This week's post is another in a long line of L.A. bands who made a minor splash but were never able to take it to the next level. Their lead singer though has had a lengthy career replacing vocalists in much bigger bands.

Love/Hate's 1990 debut album sold moderately well, and the title track "Blackout In The Red Room" got plenty of airtime on Headbanger's Ball. While the band never really took off in the US, in Europe they became a major draw. They released 4 more albums before calling it quits in 1996.

After their breakup vocalist Jizzy Pearl wrote 2 successful books and was contemplating life as an author. That changed when he was asked to join L.A. Guns in 1998. The band released one album with Jizzy, 'Shrinking Violet' and got the opening slot on 1999's sold out Poison/Ratt tour. Not long after the end of that tour Stephen Pearcy left Ratt for a second time, and Jizzy was tapped as his replacement. Despite never putting out any new material, Jizzy remained in Ratt until 2007. After that band's reunion with Pearcy, Jizzy joined ex-Guns N' Roses' drummer Steven Adler's new band 'Adler's Appetite', releasing one EP. 2009 saw Jizzy once again joining L.A. Guns where he stayed until 2011. In 2013 Jizzy joined Quiet Riot following the death of their original vocalist Kevin Dubrow.

While he's hardly a household name, he's managed a 25 year career doing what he loves. We should all be so lucky.
