Looks like the iOS game development business has learned the lesson the music industry figured out decades ago.

Why bother with creativity, originality or breaking new ground. Just repackage the same crap that's already sold over and over and over.

'Flappy Bird' didn't become a phenomenon because it was a brilliant game. It was easy, fun and addictive. So the obvious next step is to drive it into the ground.
