Manic Street Preachers - "Motown Junk"

I still remember the first time I heard this like it was yesterday. I unfortunately didn't discover the Manics until after Richie's disappearance, but those early records impacted me just as much as if I'd been a fan the whole time.

It was 1997, I was in England and had heard the hits from 'Everything Must Go'. I was intrigued enough to want to hear more. My fiancee Kathleen had the first 3 albums and a handful of singles. One night after she went to bed I decided to dig into her CDs and came across her MSP stuff. For whatever reason this single immediately caught my eye. The opening salvo of "REVOLUTION...REVOLUTION...REVOLUTION.." was like an atomic bomb. I never heard music the same again.

Nirvana never meant shit to me. THIS was my alternative. MY punk. MY revolution.
