I've seen quite a few memes and posts lately about people exercising their second amendment rights and taking up arms to protect themselves from "the government".
Do people even understand what "the government" is? It's not a single entity. It's not a boogeyman hiding in Washington trying to take away your rights. It's a complex, multi-tiered system. The whole idea of being opposed to "the government" is naive at best and laughable 99% of the time.
Who exactly are your guns going to protect you from? Little Timmy from down the street who joined the Army when he turned 18? 'Cause that's who you'd be shooting. Politicians certainly won't dirty their hands.
Vote. Volunteer. Sign petitions. All of these will make a hell of a lot more difference than stockpiling weapons to fight an enemy that doesn't even exist.
