Not as many great records as last year, and nothing as immediately wonderful as the 'Hey! Hello!' album, but still more than enough to come up with 10 and a feeble attempt to rank them.
10. Rich Robinson - The Ceaseless Sight
9. Marc Ford - Holy Ghost
8. Ginger Wildheart - Albion*
7. Trigger Hippy - Trigger Hippy
6. Cory Branan - No Hit Wonder
5. Lucinda Williams - Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone
4. Manic Street Preachers - Futurology
3. Beck - Morning Phase
2. Ryan Adams - Ryan Adams
1. St. Paul & The Broken Bones - Half The City
First obvious note, of the 4 current or past Black Crowes members to release records this year, Chris Robinson's is the only one not to make my Top 10. I could make a Top 30 and it probably still wouldn't make it.
The top 4 are all interchangeable. SPBB only gets the #1 spot because of how blown away I was the first time I heard "Call Me". I pulled my car over to find out who/what it was.
*I got Ginger's record in late 2013, but it wasn't commercially released until this year so I'm letting it count.
