Not much of a story behind this week's entry, just a band whose first record I loved as much as any album to come out among the hundreds I bought circa 1989.

Vain was a San Francisco based 4 piece with a knack for writing amazing hooks. They recorded one more album with the original lineup (that was shelved for over a decade before finally coming out) but never achieved any more success than a few weeks of rotation on 'Headbanger's Ball'. Frontman Davy Vain released several psychedelic/Britpop inspired solo records in the late 90's but aside from a couple of reunion gigs they've mostly disappeared.

'No Respect' still sounds great today though.
