Before they were the favorite music of 21st century soccer moms, Def Leppard was an honest to god great rock band.

Originally part of the 'New Wave of British Heavy Metal' (NWOBHM for short), the band was regularly included with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead and Saxon - a far cry from the multi-platinum pop act they became a few years later.
